Registration for the 2023/2024 school year will take place in Linz’s elementary schools on November 8th from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The child’s birth certificate, social security number and registration form are required, as well as the corresponding certificate in the event of a name change, as well as the completed data sheet from the Education Directorate OÖ and proof of vaccination (mandatory, please make a copy). The forms will be sent out in the coming days.
Free choice of school as long as there is space
In principle, the free choice of school applies. Although it is only possible to enroll the child at one school, parents can specify an alternative school of choice when they enroll. If not all children can be admitted to the school of their choice, the following criteria apply to final admission:
- close to home
- Siblings who are already attending school
- Educational Offers
- Work place of the legal guardians in the immediate vicinity of the school
- Family or private care in the immediate vicinity of the school
- Already attended kindergarten in the immediate vicinity of the school
- Enrollment is mandatory for all future students whose main residence is in Linz. For school enrollment
School enrollment in a school in Linz is compulsory for all children whose main place of residence is in Linz who will turn six by September 1, 2023.
