Bad Kreuzen’s cross-country skiers are state champions

The 19 runners from the Bad Kreuzen sports school have already proven that they can be expected this year at the cross-country district championships. At the state championship last week in Königswiesen, the girls’ team from lower grade 2 (Jana Pils, Hannah Langeder, Pauline and Alexandra Steiner) actually stormed to victory on the 1.8 km long, demanding forest route. The cross-country team prevailed against 16 sports schools and qualified for the national championship in cross-country in two weeks’ time in Salzburg. The talented runners Jana Pils, Hannah Langeder and Pauline Steiner also achieved third, fourth and seventh place in the individual ranking of sports students from all over Upper Austria.

The results of the boys are also impressive: Laurenz Trauner achieved 14th place in the sports school over the 2.4 km distance. Nico Altmann came in 21st in the U1 category with a distance of 1.8 km. Both runners competed against around 90 competitors.
