Driver attacked climate activist in Vienna

As is regularly the case at the start of the week, several environmentalists stuck their hands to the asphalt in front of the lanes and demanded, according to the broadcast “reasonable savings” of the federal government against inflation and the climate crisis – “especially 100 km/h on the Autobahn”. An activist was apparently injured in the face by an angry driver.

Before the police arrived to break up the action, a man attacked one of the environmentalists, as can be seen on video. The attacker came out of the rows of blocked cars, snatched a banner from the woman sitting on the crosswalk and hit her in the face with it. Police spokesman Markus Dittrich explained that the Praterstern Police Inspectorate had filed a complaint for bodily harm. “The victim suffered a scratch on his face.” The man could not be found out for the time being. In addition to the video, there are also numerous witnesses.
