The information brochure of the Pyhrn-Eisenwurzen-Klinikum Kirchdorf/Steyr is intended to accompany patients and their relatives with valuable information and tips through the challenging time of cancer.
In the Pyhrn-Eisenwurzen-Klinikum Kirchdorf/Steyr, around 600 people are diagnosed with cancer every year, which means a massive change that is accompanied by many questions. “Of course, we try to face fears and questions openly in personal conversations. With the companion for a tumor disease, we also want to support our patients and their relatives in every phase of the disease in the best possible way,” says Christine Gegenleitner, nursing ward manager.
Experts from oncology care, social work, nutritional advice, physical medicine, psycho-oncology and palliative medicine have worked together to develop the information brochure under the direction of Senior Physician Daniela Voskova. “Initially, patients receive a great deal of information that they can read at home in this reference book,” says oncologist Daniela Voskova. The booklet is intended as a support in addition to personal advice and contains the most important information on various topics related to cancer. “In order to achieve the best possible treatment success, in addition to selecting the right form of therapy, it is particularly important to us that those affected feel that they are in good hands and informed with us.”
