Schlager won the duel with Alaba

The Madrilenians, who had already been promoted before, started without some rested regulars like Karim Benzema. David Alaba only came on for the last 20 minutes. Leipzig with Xaver Schlager started furiously with goals from Josko Gvardiol (13th) and Christopher Nkunku (18th). Vinicius Junior (44th) shortened for the guests just before the break.
Substitute Timo Werner scored the decisive third goal for Leipzig (81st). Real managed to make it 2-3 from a penalty kick by Rodrygo in injury time, with the Royal team conceding their first competitive defeat of the season.
Due to the 1-1 draw in the parallel game between Celtic Glasgow and Shakhtar Donetsk, the Germans have to secure promotion in the last group game away against the Ukrainians.
Manchester City missed a penalty
Dortmund won the place in the knockout stage with a 0-0 draw against newly promoted Manchester City. The English missed a penalty after an hour through Riyad Mahrez.
Star striker Erling Haaland also went away empty-handed when he returned to his old place of work, the Norwegian stayed in the dressing room after the change of sides. A 3-0 home win by FC Sevilla against Copenhagen in the other group match was of no use to the Spaniards in their battle for promotion.
Messi, Mbappe and Neymar let off steam
In Paris, four goals from the star trio of Lionel Messi (19th, 45th), Kylian Mbappe (32nd) and Neymar (35th) set the course for a 4-1 lead before the break. The visitors managed to make it 1:3 and 2:4 through central defender Abdoulaye Seck (38′, 50′). The second Mbappe goal (64th) eliminated the last remaining doubts. Before the Israelis scored an own goal and a goal by Carlos Soler (84th) to make it 7-2.
Antonio Silva (17th) opened the scoring in Lisbon. After Moise Kean (21′) made it 1-1, Joao Mario (28′) increased the lead with a penalty and twice Rafa Silva (35′) with his heel and shortly after the restart (50′) to make it 4-1. A Juve double strike out of nowhere by Arkadiusz Milik (77th) and Weston McKennie (79th) brought tension again, but the Turin team was no longer able to equalize.
