Concerns about the continued existence of the Postal Partner office in Hagenberg, run by the Diakoniewerk, have found a happy ending. Actually, the Diakonie wanted to terminate the contract with the post office at the end of the year because the operation cannot be run to cover costs. On the other hand, there was resistance in the form of a petition, since people with disabilities find meaningful work in the Postpartner company.
It is now clear: the post partner office will continue to operate at the existing location. All jobs for people with disabilities will remain. This solution was made possible primarily through the financial support of the social department of the state of Upper Austria and through the financial assumption of the costs for the additional personnel expenditure by the market town of Hagenberg.
