Sibelius worked through his life as “Karli Bua” and sings about love

“Ziagt’s zu warm zu!” warns the “Karli Bua” alias Karl M. Sibelius the audience of his autobiographical song recital, which he presented to the public for the first time on November 3rd as a preview at the Gasthof Haudum.

For the former Linz audience favorite, Thomas Bernhard’s words have more than come true: “You don’t go to Trier with impunity, you go to Trier and make yourself look ridiculous.” The consequence of his “dramatic failure” as director of the theater there was his withdrawal from the stages that mean the world.

But it is not that easy. During his psychotherapy training, Karl Sibelius realized that something still had to be worked through, and within a few days he had packed his life into 20 songs, which he is now presenting to his audience for the first time.

Tribute to life and love

“Karli Bua” is more than an autobiography, it is a homage to life, love and all the crazy people who make this world so colourful. It is a homage to “being different”, but also an examination of what it means for people to encounter the other, the stranger, and how much strength and courage it takes to let the stranger into one’s life.

Sibelius has been living in Helfenberg for many years, the lyrics were written there and that is also the reason why the actor, psychotherapist and professor at the PH Linz would like to present them together with his band in the composition by Nebojsa Krulanovicim in the Gasthaus Haudum for the first time. Namely on November 3rd, 18th and 24th, each time at 7 p.m. Ticket orders from Monday to Thursday between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m.: 0664 / 84 81 299.
