The plaster had long since crumbled off, the window panes were splintered: the “Object X” (with the Roman ten) of the Werndl arms factory had degenerated into an eyesore . Now there is peace in the former industrial building, which is what the residents of the 87 rooms of the student residence need, for which the “non-profit building and settlement company Familienwohnbau” has revitalized the wrecked building.

Bernhard Raffelsberger was now able to receive the relief of the “Steyrer Panther” from Deputy Mayor Michael Schodermayr (SP) and City Councilor Evelyn Kattnigg (FP) as a monument care officer for the developer, who renovated the former factory in an exemplary manner in agreement with the Federal Monuments Office.

Ingo Forstenlechner from “Crossroads Business Consulting GmbH” was also honored with the award for exemplary building and active protection of monuments for the facade and window renovation of the residential and town house at Sierninger Straße 8. Another “Steyrer Panther” was awarded to the carpenters Ernst Prohaska and Alois Winkler as the craftsmen who carried out the window restoration at the student residence in the former “Object X” of the weapons factory.
