The documentation accompanies forester Roman Paumann (picture) on the early morning stalk to the chamois in the steep slopes of the national park. The ranger Erni Kirchweger talks about her life in the national park and her enthusiasm for conveying nature experiences. Michael Schwarzlmüller knows the national park like the back of his hand. In his youth he checked the boundary stones of the area for eight years.
Christian Hatzenbichler founded the “Bergwiesn” association in order to cultivate the steep areas and thereby preserve the wealth of species on the flower meadows. The meadows are not only maintained with mowers, but also animal helpers such as white donkeys and goats help with the work.
The broadcast date for the Heimat-Austria production by Thomas Hackl Film and MINA-Pictures “Leben im Hintergebirge” is November 2, 8:15 p.m. on ORF III.
