In future, the ballast is to be transported on a works bridge over the Ager to the B1 federal highway. The citizens’ initiative against the expansion criticizes the state’s preparatory work for the new road to the future roundabout on the B1. “It is not only negligent, but also questionable if the construction of the roundabout and the associated driveway is already taking place without the security of a permit. Since the roundabout and driveway is an advance payment for a gravel pit project that has not yet been approved, there are doubts whether a fair process is still possible at all,” says a broadcast from the initiative. This would create a fait accompli before the trial date, criticizes its spokesman Herbert Huss.
Treul boss Ursula Huber-Wilhelm contradicts this representation. “That has nothing to do with us. The roundabout is being built to increase traffic safety on the B1. The connection to a hydrographic measuring station will be established with the exit to Ager.” Of course, one would benefit from the new road if the outcome of the EIA procedure was positive. However, Treul only wants to build the Ager Bridge if she gets the green light for further dismantling. (fam)
