Manhunt in the Innviertel: Police are looking for aggressive knife sellers

On suspicion of coercion, theft and fraud, the police are looking for two men who may be driving a car with French license plates. The duo followed a 72-year-old on Monday morning on the way to Pischelsdorf near Engelbach and waited in a parking lot. One of the men is said to have tried extremely aggressively to sell the pensioner sets of knives. When the Innviertler refused, the suspect is said to have put five sets of knives in his car and demanded money for them.

The intimidated victim handed the strangers cash and his wrist watch. But the perpetrators were not satisfied with that. Because they wanted to see more money, the pensioner drove to his bank in Feldkirchen near Mattighofen (Braunau am Inn district). However, by the time he left the store, the duo had disappeared.

The daughter of the 72-year-old finally informed the police, who initiated a search. So far, however, there is no trace of the men and the car. Anyone who has information about the perpetrators or the perpetrator’s vehicle can contact the nearest police station at any time, the police said on Monday evening.
