The reason for the escalation: the 20 or so disguised people had not received any sweets. A 16-year-old was identified as the ringleader, and the investigation into the other young people had not yet been completed, the police said on Tuesday.
Around 10:30 p.m., a family in Klagenfurt had informed the police that a group of young people would riot in front of their house. The youths ran away when the police arrived. The 52-year-old homeowner said the teens rang the doorbell about half an hour earlier saying “trick or treating” – but because they weren’t children, they didn’t get anything.
The young people then threw stones and bottles into the courtyard, damaging the man’s car. An initially unknown youth repeatedly asked the 52-year-old to come out and threatened that he would “stab” him. He is said to have held a knife in his hand. In a comparison, the 52-year-old finally identified the 16-year-old from Klagenfurt, he is reported.
