Only the two of them know why Halloween night went the way it did for the two young people from Leonding. First they hit various objects in the area of a youth center in Leonding with baseball bats. The two teenagers then drove to various locations in Traun and Leonding and lit category F4 firecrackers in garbage cans, garbage containers and two cigarette machines.
Through extensive investigations, it was possible to track down the two boys, an 18-year-old and a 19-year-old Leondinger. In addition, a voluntary inspection in the 18-year-old’s apartment found more than 1000 pyrotechnic objects, mainly category F4 (firework bombs, Roman lights (bomb tubes, water fireworks). These come from two break-ins in a pyrotechnics warehouse in the Linz-Land district. The burglaries happened weeks before Halloween night, police said.
The two young people initially denied the crimes, but ultimately confessed and were reported several times.
