Two municipal councilors were absent without excuse from the municipal council meeting in the town hall yesterday. You must have overslept. After the SP threw up further resolutions with its move on October 19, Mayor Christian Haberhauer (VP) had scheduled the continuation of the meeting at the unchristian time of 7 a.m. yesterday.
Haberhauer justified the conference at such an early hour, which is record-breaking in Austrian local politics, with the fact that the awarding of contracts would not have tolerated any further delay. He had previously accused the SP of having risked damage of 1.5 million euros to the city with their exodus due to delays at the construction sites. The SP, which saw the unusual morning meeting as a form of harassment and a lack of appreciation from the city parliament, rejected the mayor’s objection as “factually wrong”. The tense mood between the turquoise-green government coalition and the red opposition can be concluded from this.
