Stefan Haneder from St. Oswald near Freistadt prevailed against 17 highly qualified competitors from all over the world at this year’s world championship in cocktail mixing in Karlsbad. The Mühlviertler convinced the jury with the best interpretation of a non-alcoholic cocktail: “The 5 Elements” tastes like a typical Mühlviertel dish – an apple strudel.
This success of Haneder, who runs two cocktail bars in Freistadt and Linz in addition to his international appearances as a bartender, was honored by the Chamber of Commerce and the Freistadt Young Economy with a special award: a special stamp with the title “Stefan Haneder – World Champion 2022”.
Stefan Haneder is one of the outstanding entrepreneurial ambassadors of the Freistadt region for the Junge Wirtschaft and the WKO Freistadt. Christoph Heumader, deputy federal chairman of the Junge Wirtschaft, and Dietmar Wolfsegger, head of the Freistadt Chamber of Commerce, presented Haneder with a set of the special stamps in his Acanto cocktail bar on Freistadt’s main square.
Haneder has been a bartender for 25 years and also travels the world. After nine national championship titles and three runners-up world championship titles in the classic competition and show barkeeping, as well as winning 80 competitions all over the world, his biggest dream came true with the title of world champion: “I’ve been working towards this for 20 years.”
