According to the assessment of the Corona forecast consortium published on Thursday, the decline in the number of cases in most of the federal states and age groups will be slower in the future than before.
The same applies to hospitalizations in normal and intensive care, but they are declining more slowly than the number of cases.
At the end of the forecast period on November 17th, an occupancy of 1,030 to 1,685 beds is expected in Austria for standard care, with an average of 1,317. The 33 percent utilization limit of the intensive care units will be exceeded with a 0.5 percent probability across Austria. The prognosis does not differentiate between people whose hospitalization is causally attributable to Covid-19 and those who were admitted due to a different diagnosis.
The Agency for Health and Food Safety (AGES) reported 4,218 new infections for Wednesday, the seven-day incidence was 348.2. There are currently 50,788 active cases in Austria. As of Thursday morning, there were 1,353 infected people in the hospital, 92 fewer than the day before and 743 fewer within a week. 93 people are being cared for in intensive care units, which is six fewer patients within a week.
