Together with the University of Applied Arts Vienna, the Austrian Academy of Sciences, the Graz Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Research on the Consequences of War and the Science Fund, a total of 40,000 square meters is being created in the new House for Science and Art in the old Otto-Wagner-Postsparkasse in the first district own “knowledge campus”. “By moving in, the JKU is increasing its visibility in Vienna,” says JKU Rector Meinhard Lukas. The new campus offers “a spatial and content-related interlocking”.
Wittgenstein Prize winner Gerhard Widmer is certain that the new “JKU home base” in Vienna offers excellent conditions for research and teaching. For Pia Olisar, the move is “an important milestone”. Olisar is the head of the Kepler University Center for Distance Learning.
