Leonhardiritt and Kirtag in Sarleinsbach

Magnificently decorated horses can be seen again in Sarleinsbach on Sunday, November 6th, when they carry their riders through the market in honor of Saint Leonhard. At 9 a.m. the riders line up at the rectory. At 9.30 a.m. you ride towards St. Leonhard.

The group of riders is accompanied by the Sarleinsbach music band. After the blessing of the horses and the field mass at the chapel, it is worth visiting the Leonhardi fair on the market square. Saint Leonhard is revered as a “horse saint” in Austria and Bavaria. The Sarleinsbacher Leonhardiritt is one of the largest traditional rides in all of Austria.

After the Leonhardi ride, there will be live music from “4 & One” from 12 noon to 4 p.m. in the hall of the Gasthaus Reiter on the market square. The youngest are offered a children’s program in the community hall. Punch stands invite adult visitors to linger in Sarleinsbach.
