The mayor of Salto considered vital “a work to strengthen the Broad Front in the 17 departments located outside the Metropolitan area” and judged that each candidate has “an electorate that does not collide with each other”, because the figures “with greater visibility within the Front have certain characteristics that make them reach a different audience, but ultimately they go to the same side”.
Lima joins a scheme of pre-candidacies for the Front that is neither official nor closed, but which in principle has as potential candidates for the presidency the mayor of Montevideo, Carolina Cossé; to the former Minister of Economy mario bergara; and the mayor of Canelones, Yamandu Orsi.
