Sorted out potentially lethal mushroom yield in New Town Hall

The last mushroom consultation in the city of Linz took place on October 31st in the new town hall. In some cases, the counseling work was even life-saving. Mushroom seekers, for example, had a poisonous green death cap mushroom with them, or green brimstone heads that were just as deadly. A highly poisonous panther mushroom and some yellow death cap mushrooms were also among the finds. “As you can see, the activity of the Linzer Pilzberatung cannot be overestimated,” says City Councilor for Health Michael Raml (FP).

Be careful after the first frost

With temperatures dropping, caution is advised, although mushrooms can still be found in the forests around Linz. The chemical composition of the mushrooms and the proteins contained in them can change as a result of freezing and thawing. Consumption would lead to severe stomach problems.
