As of Saturday morning, there were 1,311 infected people in the hospital, 17 fewer than were reported the day before. Within a week there was a decrease of 680. 85 people are cared for in intensive care units. This number has fallen by six since yesterday and has fallen by 15 patients in a week. There are currently 49,424 laboratory-confirmed active cases in Austria, 2,275 fewer than the day before.
In the past seven days, 43 deaths related to Covid-19 have been registered, seven of which have been added since Friday. Overall, the Covid 19 pandemic has claimed 21,036 lives in Austria since it broke out.
A total of 136,728 rapid PCR and antigen tests were reported on Thursday, 109,900 of which were more meaningful PCR tests with a positive rate of 5.3 percent. On average, 77,422 PCR analyzes were carried out every day in the past week, 5.9 percent delivered positive results.
