At around 5:30 p.m., the stranger was driving in the wrong direction on the Westautobahn between Regau and Schörfling in the fast lane when a car came towards him. The 35-year-old Tyrolean, who was heading towards Salzburg, was just able to swerve to the right and thus avoided a head-on collision. Nevertheless, there was a side collision, which left parts of the wrong-way driver’s vehicle on the road.
The wrong-way driver then drove on in his damaged car and fled. The searched vehicle is a black Audi with the license plate “SL” (Salzburg-Land), the police suspect. The car was damaged on the left side and front. The remaining parts of the accident driver are still to be evaluated.
