Italian Bagnaia won the MotoGP World Championship

Bagnaia had taken a lead of 23 points into the last race of the season, 14th place would have been enough for the Italian. He ended up ninth, Quartararo was fourth. It was won by the Spaniard Alex Rins on a Suzuki, which is retiring from the World Championship.

The Spaniard Augusto Fernandez is the new world champion in Moto2. Fernandez won the duel between two Kalex drivers against the Japanese Ai Ogura, his last remaining competitor in the title fight. Fernandez succeeds Australian Remy Gardner. The Spaniard will be the only rider from the Moto2 category to move up to the MotoGP class next season.
