Accompanied by Provincial Councilor Stefan Kaineder and the Green Party spokeswoman for economics in the state parliament, Dagmar Engl, Maurer talked to company boss Christine Dirneder about regional and sustainable food production. The Dirneder-Mühle has been producing at its location in the middle of Perg for generations with regional raw materials and its own hydropower. A concept that visibly impressed Sigrid Maurer: “This mill is a prime example of regional and ecological production. It focuses on sustainability and careful use of resources, lives climate protection, and is run very successfully by an award-winning woman.”
Dirneder-Mühle is thus taking a path towards food security away from large corporations and the agricultural industry.
