The internationally successful heating technology company Hargassner based in Weng has taken over the company Pichler Metallbau based in Tiefgraben near Mondsee. Pichler Metallbau is integrated into the Hargassner group of companies – the heating specialist for biomass already employs around 750 people and produces pellet, wood chip and log wood heating systems in an output range from six to 2500 kW.
The aim is to integrate Pichler Metallbau into Hargassner’s organization as smoothly as possible and to continue to fulfill the current order situation without delay for the customers. All existing employment relationships would be taken over, according to Hargassner. “We offer every employee in Mondsee a secure job under the Hargassner umbrella. We look forward to working with you to further strengthen our expertise in the metalworking industry,” says Managing Director Anton Hargassner.
It is also about using synergy effects. Pichler Metallbau was founded in 1930 as a metalworking shop. In 1972, Hans Pichler, who began his apprenticeship in his parents’ business in 1954, passed the master craftsman’s examination in 1964 and has continued to run the company successfully to this day, took over. The now 83-year-old entrepreneur is retiring and placing his life’s work in the hands of the management of the Hargassner company: a family business from the Innviertel that also emerged from a one-man locksmith’s shop.
Pichler Metallbau will remain as an independent company and as a brand. The company has well-founded expertise in steel construction: carports, conservatories, patio roofs, modern light metal facades, metal windows and doors, automatic doors and gates, cylinder locking systems, shading systems, railings and fences as well as handcrafted metal design. For decades, artistic wrought iron work has also been carried out with particular dedication, which can be found on many properties in the Mondsee region.
When in 1976 a new company building was erected in the community of Tiefgraben due to a lack of space, Pichler was already internationally active and gained export experience in Africa, Switzerland and Germany, among other places. The company’s good reputation, combined with Hargassner’s strength and experience, offers a first-class prerequisite for further dynamic development within the Hargassner Group. “We are very satisfied to be able to integrate such a quality company with Pichler Metallbau and look forward to future cooperation,” say Hargassner managing directors Anton and Markus Hargassner. As reported, Hargassner has also been the new owner of Schifffahrt Meindl Mondsee since 2021.
