Since 2013 there has been a cross-border medium-sized center between Simbach and Braunau, five years later Neuhaus and Schärding followed suit: According to the Bavarian state development program, there is potential in economic and social terms that can be significantly increased through cross-border cooperation. Due to the corona pandemic, however, many cross-border projects were put on hold, and now the partners want to step up their game. Since Simbach and Braunau already have five years more experience, the mayor of Neuhaus am Inn, Stephan Dorn, and Schärding’s mayor Günter Streicher recently sought an exchange with the mayors Klaus Schmid from Simbach and Johannes Waidbacher from Braunau. Topics were the experiences of the people from Simbach and Braunau with their joint city marketing concept and the marketing of the places as well as the joint event management. The plans for the design of the Schärding State Horticultural Show and the Neuhauser Innlände were also discussed.
Schärding is thinking of building a pump track facility that could also be connected to Neuhaus via a cycle path.
