Since the beginning of the year, it has been known from the Vöcklabruck drug scene that large quantities of cocaine are being circulated in the Vöcklabruck district. After extensive investigations by the KKD (Coordinated Criminal Investigation Service) Vöcklabruck, a 46-year-old from Regau, a 36-year-old from Schörfling, a 31-year-old from Schörfling and a 48-year-old from Seewalchen as a sub-distributor have now been identified as the main perpetrators.
On April 17, the 46-year-old was arrested in Vöcklabruck on his way back from a smuggling trip from Belgium. He had a kilogram of high-quality cocaine in his luggage. In a further coordinated access, the sub-distributors mentioned were also arrested and a number of house searches were carried out.
Storage room as a drug bunker
In the course of the house searches, a drug bunker disguised as a storage room was discovered, in which a cannabis cultivation facility was parked. Investigations revealed that the 36-year-old from Schörfling had grown cannabis on several occasions. Numerous narcotic paraphernalia were also secured in the narcotics bunker next to the rearing facility.
German pensioner was a cocaine supplier
Through the further investigations, a 73-year-old German citizen, who lived in Belgium until recently, was identified as the 46-year-old’s supplier. The 73-year-old was arrested at his Belgian address because of an international arrest order, extradited to Austria in mid-July and taken to Wels Prison.
main offender confessed
During his interrogation, the 46-year-old main perpetrator confessed that in the period from April 2020 to April 2022, on a total of four smuggling trips, a total of around 2.5 kilograms of cocaine with a street value of around 250,000 euros was smuggled from Belgium or Germany to Austria to have. A further 32 sub-distributors and consumers were reported to the competent public prosecutor’s office.
