Lukas Strasser: “I experience so much appreciation at SV Ried”

Strasser has been one of the most loyal fans of SV Guntamatic Ried for years and is also a role model for the kickers. The wheelchair user is also present on many trips away from home. In his private life, basketball is one of his passions.

Reason enough for the stewards of SV Ried, Heinz Schauberger and Wolfgang Freilinger, to take matters into their own hands. With the generous support of the SV Ried fan club, the association “Ried ein Leben Lang” and other donors, a basketball wheelchair was financed and handed over to Strasser at the home game against Austria Klagenfurt last Saturday.

The 25-year-old has been playing for the Rolling Bones club for ten years. “I go to the away games with some of the stewards from time to time because we get along very well. That’s when we came up with the topic of basketball. That’s how it started,” says Strasser, adding: “This support is something very special for me. I have a great connection to the Supras and Glory Boys fan clubs and experience a very special appreciation there. A very special thanks also goes to Florian Jetzinger, who is always very committed to me.”

“Get Goosebumps”

When he thinks of the helpfulness of so many people around SV Ried, he gets “goosebumps”. “Such actions characterize the club and the Innviertel. I hardly believe that there is something like this at any other Bundesliga club in Austria. We are like a family, I am very, very grateful for that,” says the loyal SV Ried fan.
