During the election of the board of directors, City Councilor Christian Baumgarten, Hans Greinöcker and Erich Schwarz were elected Vogl’s deputies, while Christian Zemsauer remains district sports director. The only woman on the board is secretary Doris Obergruber.
With Gerhard Bremm and Anton Obrist, two long-standing top officials also left the board. Bremm was elected honorary president, and Obrist was appointed “managing chairman for life”. In addition, Obrist received the Askö honorary award “move”.
Guest of honor at the district assembly was Hermann Krist, president of the Askö federal organization. However, the former member of the National Council may have misjudged the signs of the times. In his speech, he made a plea for the construction of a curling ice rink in Steyr, despite the already devastating effects of the climate catastrophes.
The Askö has 62 clubs with 115 sections and more than 8460 members in Steyr and Steyr-Land.
