The media office of the public prosecutor’s office in Graz confirmed a corresponding media report on Wednesday that the pedagogue is being investigated on suspicion of possession of child pornography. The photos were sent via the social media platform Snapchat. The man was suspended from duty.
The tip to the police had come from the country’s education department. During a house search at the teacher’s home on Thursday of the previous week, data carriers were secured, which are now being evaluated, it said on APA request. Previously, students had apparently turned to a tutor, who then started the investigation. The suspect is said to have given the students money for the photos. How many victims there could be among the students has not been fully clarified, the media office said.
