Stiftsgymnasium Schlierbach invests in creativity, research and movement

A dream came true: At the end of October, the Stiftsgymnasium Schlierbach opened its new gymnasium and various modern classrooms (biology, chemistry and physics hall, biology and chemistry laboratory, music hall, IT/computer rooms and rooms for art classes) on the upper floor of the new building. It is a real investment in the future: The new building enables the school to continue to offer the growing number of pupils – currently around 550 children and young people attend the grammar school – an attractive and modern school infrastructure and an optimal learning environment Offer.

“Vision started with a dream”

Numerous prominent guests of honor were also present at the opening ceremony – above all the head of the Austrian Institute for Economic Research (WIFO), Gabriel Felbermayr, who also once went to school at the Stiftsgymnasium Schlierbach and graduated from there. “I am proud and grateful to have graduated from this school. These eight years were formative for me and decisive for my career.”

Jürgen Rathmayr, director of the Stiftsgymnasium, was particularly proud of the successful new building: “The vision began five years ago with a dream. Now the dream has become reality. At the time I didn’t think it would be possible. But giving up was never a dream Alternative. The school association invested an incredible amount of time in the project. You are my heroes.”
