Boric had yesterday questioned the Nicaraguan municipal elections, in which the ruling party kept all the mayorships through its own representatives, allies or leaders of forces accused of collaborationism.
“An electoral process that is carried out without freedom, reliable electoral justice and imprisoned or banned opponents is not a democracy anywhere in the world. We will continue to push in multilateral spaces the need to guarantee in Nicaragua the reestablishment of the democratic guarantees and freedoms of a rule of law and an end to all attacks against opponents,” Boric wrote yesterday on his Twitter account.
In his reply, Morales lamented the coincident look of the Chilean president with that of former Bolivian president Quiroga, with whom the coca grower leader maintains an almost permanent controversy.
Quiroga shared Boric’s message yesterday.
