Lena Patrasso was not born in the Rohrbach Clinic as planned, but on the way there, more precisely in the ambulance in Schindlau. . The expectant mother Nadine Patrasso was with her father in a private car on the way to the hospital when the contractions started massively. “There was no longer any thought of continuing. That’s why we called the rescue service,” says Patrasso. The control center immediately sent an ambulance from the local Red Cross office to the two. “Höhe Schindlau, private car beginning birth” was the message that should make the day unforgettable for the paramedics Lena Stöbich and Alexander Waidhofer.
Shortly after Nadine was lying on the stretcher in the ambulance, and before the emergency doctor from Rohrbach, who had also been alerted to be on the safe side, arrived, little Lena made her first cry. Together with the NEF team, the new earthling was cared for and then handed over to the maternity ward team in the Rohrbach Clinic.
“It was very exciting, but also beautiful,” paramedics Alexander Waidhofer and Nadine Stöbich agree. For both it was the first birth in the emergency services. It is the second girl for the young family from Schwarzenberg, because Lara is already waiting for her new sibling at home. Papa Michael Stockinger, who drove away from work in Linz to be present at the birth, didn’t make it in time: “I couldn’t have driven that fast.”
