Alcoholic driver crashed into bus stop – two injured

The 52-year-old from Steyr drove around 1.30 p.m. in his car in Steyr on Haratzmüllerstraße towards the city. Suddenly – according to the vehicle occupants – a tire on the rear axle burst, causing the driver to lose control of his vehicle. The car crashed into a bus stop near a Mac Donald’s.

The 52-year-old and a passerby were slightly injured. It borders on a miracle that no more people were injured, say eyewitnesses to the OÖN. The bus stop is usually a popular meeting place for numerous young people.

An alcohol test with the driver was positive; The alcoholization was then confirmed in the Pyhrn-Eisenwurzen Clinic in Steyr. The driver had to temporarily surrender his driver’s license.
