The UVC McDonald’s Ried managed a surprise on Saturday evening in the local Raiffeisen Volleydome. The opponent was none other than the reigning champion, Waldviertel.

In the first set, the guests from Zwettl were still ahead with 26:28, then the Rieder really turned up the heat with the loud support from the ranks.

“Proud of the team”

The Innviertler won the following three sets with 28:26, 25:22 and 25:23 and left the field as a 3:1 winner. “It’s amazing, I’m incredibly proud of the team, after all, Waldviertel is one of the strongest teams in the league,” said coach Dominik Kefer after the surprising success.
