The Economic and Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (WKStA) accuses Chorherr of abuse of office and bribery, the entrepreneurs’ provision for abuse of office and bribery in various forms of participation. The co-defendants include the investor Rene Benko, the industrialist Michael Tojner and the real estate developers Erwin Soravia and Günter Kerbler.
At the start of the process last Tuesday, the first opening speeches were on the program. The lawyers for the parties involved had all rejected the allegations.
The pleadings were continued today with presentations by representatives of various companies who, according to the WKStA, are involved in the cause. Because the public prosecutor’s office has also applied for a fine to be imposed on a total of 21 associations, i.e. project companies, under the Association Responsibility Act. After the opening speeches, the accused are questioned about the allegations for the first time.
