Since 1995, the director of the Ried State Music School, Prof. Eduard Geroldinger, has been one of the influential personalities of cultural life in the Innviertel. His work, which goes far beyond pedagogical activities, sets special accents in the promotion of talent and a lively event schedule. As chairman of the LMS-Kulturkreis association and as director of Jeunesse Ried, he creates performance platforms for regional “masters of tomorrow” and internationally successful artists alike.
As a passionate horn player, Geroldinger can not only be heard at numerous events in the Innviertel region, but also internationally with the Vienna Johann Strauss Orchestra, of which he has been a member since 1980 and is the managing director. As early as next January, seven concerts in Japan and a performance in Hamburg’s Elbphilharmonie are on the program.
Eduard Geroldinger is a member of the Innviertler artists’ guild IKG and a key co-creator of the Inn4tler-Sommer event series. Geroldinger also does valuable work for the Lions Club Ried, of which he has been a member since 1995, in the organization of the annual large benefit concert.
In recognition of his services to cultural life in Upper Austria, Governor Thomas Stelzer presented him with the golden culture medal of the state of Upper Austria in a ceremony on November 7th.
