On the occasion of this awareness campaign, the Rohrbach Soroptimists set orange accents on the Rohrbach soccer field on Saturday.
In the last game of the fall season, the Soroptimists, together with UFC Pieno Rohrbach-Berg, showed that this topic affects everyone and that looking and acting are important. “Violence has many faces. It is exercised physically and psychologically and happens mainly in the home environment. The high number of femicides and acts of violence is frightening and upsetting,” emphasized club president Elfriede Haindl. It is all the more important to raise people’s awareness of the topic.
This year, Soroptimist International Austria is increasingly focusing on prevention and cooperation with men’s institutions and schools. Even young people should be sensitized to the topic and it should be shown that violence is not a solution – and also not a sign of strength.
