During a night of shopping, the center becomes an art mile

Works of art in shops, pop-up art rooms and a studio that is open until late at night: the day after tomorrow, Friday, the City Marketing Perg will focus on encounters with artists during the “Long Night of the City Centre”.

For this purpose, two free commercial spaces will be used for art exhibitions for a few days from Friday. Daniela Wiesinger, Bettina Walenta-Wastl and Michaela Waldhör are exhibiting some of their paintings at Herrenstraße 18, the former Mader travel agency. The works have been adorning the window display since the beginning of November. On Friday the exhibition “www – wonderfully effective works” will be officially opened.

In the conservatory of the area in the Seifensiederhaus, which has been used as a bar for many years, sculptures and art installations on the “anatomy of unicorns” can be found. Josseline Engeler, who lives in Perg and is a lecturer at the University of Art and Design Linz, is setting up the exhibition together with the artists Matthias Lindtner and Robert Angerer, who grew up in Perg.

Markus Waltenberger also takes part in the “Long Night of the City Center” and shows 25 works from 30 years of his work in his studio on Herrenstraße. He promises an “inspiring chill-out atmosphere” including serving mulled wine.

The wood sculptor Heinrich Langeder from Münzbach is on site at Annemarie Heimtextilen. In “Gusto-Speis II” you can see pictures by Ute Clein and Norbert Füxl. Juwelier Edthaler is showing unusual models from the Cablecar collection by artist and goldsmith Leonhard Ableitner, and at Bogart in the Stadthaus, visitors have the opportunity to talk to painter Bohumila Eder.
