The executive chairman of the Wirtschaftsbund, Karlheinz Rüdisser, announced this in a broadcast on Thursday. The additional payment relates to sales tax and corporate income tax, no tax assessment has yet been received with regard to the donation. The notifications will be checked and any complaints will be kept open, says Rüdisser.
The tax audit, which lasted more than eight months, dealt in particular with the payment of taxes for advertisements that were sold for the Wirtschaftsbund newspaper “Vorarlberger Wirtschaft”. Because advertising revenues exploded to a certain extent from 2018, this business was no longer considered sovereign by the tax authorities. Since the tax authority considers the Wirtschaftsbund to be a party-related association, in contrast to other authorities, a grant tax of around 105,000 euros can be expected for the years 2017 to 2021, said Rüdisser.
