Pee boxes at the train station will be dismantled at the end of the week

Pee boxes at the train station will be dismantled at the end of the week

In order to show a solution for the pollution around the bus station, the Linzplus municipal council group set up mobile toilets for five weeks. “We kept the toilet clean every day, passengers, homeless people and even bus drivers used it. Extremely positive feedback also came from the local social workers and the homeless people themselves,” says one balance sheet. Both toilets would have to be emptied every three days. But now the experiment is over. Both toilets will be dismantled at the end of the week, because the municipal council group can no longer bear the costs of 1000 euros per month alone.

No reaction

However, the hoped-for political impetus failed to materialize. At the moment it does not look as if the idea will be taken up by the city of Linz or the state service center. “Nobody wants to take over, nobody wants to care. Nobody sees themselves responsible,” says Linzplus parliamentary group leader Lorenz Potocnik.
