Where apprentices receive first-class training

“Apprentices are like diamonds in the rough. It’s up to us to train them to become successful specialists,” says Karl Schmalzer, director of the Bründl spa hotel in Bad Leonfelden. The fact that the mission of teaching apprentices to enjoy their job, to encourage them and to accompany them in their development is evidently quite successful in the four-star company was shown at this year’s “ineo apprenticeship awards” from the Upper Austrian Chamber of Commerce: The Bründl was named the most exemplary training company in Upper Austria in the category “medium-sized companies” (10 to 99 employees).

Since 2007, 21 apprentices have been trained at the Spa Hotel Bründl. More than 100 interns completed a mandatory internship. There are currently seven apprentices in training. The extent to which the leading tourism company succeeds in preparing its offspring for a successful career is shown by three skilled workers who have meanwhile completed their training. Maria Stadlbauer cooked up the gold medal at the State Cooking Championships in Altmünster, Victoria Cellnigg won the Junior Cooking Challenge at the Linz Hotspots and Sebastian Lachinger is now a multi-award-winning State Cocktail Champion.
