According to a Green Party broadcast, the cycle path is only 78 centimeters wide. The cycle path contradicts “all specifications and rules”, criticizes the Green mobility spokeswoman Dagmar Engl and speaks of a “Minimundus cycle lane”. Although the roadway had been renovated, the stripe had only been marked with a new color. Engl therefore calls for a “proper bike lane on the B126” and uses the occasion for a general criticism: “Those responsible apparently see no need for bike safety.” Black and blue would have rejected an application by the Greens to identify and eliminate danger spots and security gaps in the cycle path network. From her point of view, the need is very much there: ““Never in the last 30 years As many people were injured while cycling as in 2021. Mainly due to a lack of or dangerous infrastructure.”
