Dürr leadership in Levi – ÖSV women outside the top ten

The 31-year-old, who has not yet won a slalom, took 0.45 seconds off second-placed Swede Anna Swenn Larsson. The top favorites Mikaela Shiffrin (USA/+0.55) and Petra Vlhova (SVK/+0.57) are lying in wait in third and fourth place. Austria’s team is heading for a poor opening result.

After 30 runners, Chiara Mair was the best ÖSV runner in twelfth place (+1.55). Katharina Liensberger and Katharina Truppe followed on places 15/+1.65 and 17/+1.66. Liensberger never really got going after a slide in the upper part. “Then of course it adds up,” said the slalom world champion on ORF. “Of course that’s not what you imagine. We’ll analyze it carefully.” The second round will take place at 1 p.m.

After four race cancellations due to the climate, Levi, north of the Arctic Circle, was a grateful World Cup venue for the women’s delayed start. Another slalom is planned for Sunday (10:15 a.m./1:15 p.m./live ORF 1).
