The armed man who opened fire inside a Colorado gay nightclub, killing at least five people, He was stopped by two “heroic” people who were inside the premises, police said at a press conference on Sunday.
The suspect was identified as Anderson-Lee Aldrich22, and said he used a long rifle.
The individual entered the club and “immediately began shooting at the people inside… At least two heroic people within the club confronted and fought with the suspect and were able to stop him from killing.“Police Chief Adrian Vasquez said at a news conference.

Castro reported that police received an emergency call just before midnight Saturday (0657 GMT Sunday) saying there was an active shooting at the Club Q.
The spokeswoman said that medical teams and officers responded and “They located an individual inside who we believe is the suspect”who is detained in a hospital receiving medical treatment.
The owners of Club Q said on Facebook that they “are devastated by the senseless attack on our community.”
“We appreciate the quick reactions of the heroic customers who subdued the gunman and put an end to this hateful attack,” they added.
The club had previously announced an LGBT event starting at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday. “We celebrate Transgender Day of Remembrance with a variety of gender identities and styles,” the post read.
