They wrote a paper about their exchange with the people they met and at the end presented their experiences in front of the class.
KUP (Communication and Presentation) is the name of a new school subject at BG/BRG Gmunden, which was developed and taught by the two teachers, Silvia Plasser and Franz Mittendorfer. It does not impart factual knowledge (as is often the case in school), but rather skills – and above all social experiences. The young people establish relationships with people and learn what holds our society together at its core.
The municipality of Gmunden has now awarded the school subject this year’s social award in the “Projects” category. The other two social prizes went to Peter Hammerschmid (category “Individual board”) and the team of the Gmunden social market SOMA (category “Groups”).
