The seven-day incidence was 303 cases per 100,000 population. There are currently 38,824 laboratory-confirmed active cases in Austria, 1,609 more than on Monday.
As of Tuesday morning, there were 867 infected people in the hospital, eleven more than the day before. Within a week there was a decrease of 117 patients. 70 people are being cared for in intensive care units. That is three fewer seriously ill patients than on Monday, and there is a decrease of five intensive care patients in a week-to-week comparison.

In total, the Covid 19 pandemic has claimed 21,149 lives in Austria since it broke out. 234.3 infected people have already died per 100,000 inhabitants.
A total of 173,386 rapid PCR and antigen tests were registered on Monday. Of these, 154,080 were meaningful PCR tests, the positive rate was 2.8 percent. On average, 80,807 PCR analyzes were carried out every day in the past week, 4.8 percent delivered positive results.
