Around 1,200 runners, including 375 children, started on October 2nd for a good cause in the Traun sports center. The run is also supported by the city of Traun, Kinderpatenschaft Österreich, which donated 15,000 euros, and LASK, which collected 12,500 euros at the benefit game “LASK versus Eintracht Frankfurt”. “My special thanks go to the new organizational team of the Upper Austrian Heart Run, the city marketing team around Ines Reiter, the many volunteers and of course everyone involved,” says the President of the Heart Children, Michaela Altendorfer.

The Herzkinder association, founded in 2006, accompanies, cares for and supports families of children who are born with a heart defect. In 2014, the “Herzlauf Austria” running series started in Vienna and Upper Austria. Today, the running events, the entire proceeds of which benefit the association, take place all over Austria.
