The city of Linz is currently looking for applicants for these apprenticeships

Anyone interested in an apprenticeship with the City of Linz can choose from ten professions – from administrative assistants to carpenters. A total of 55 apprentices are being sought. If you add the group of companies of the city of Linz (UGL) to that, there are even around 100. Currently, more than 300 apprentices are being trained there in 37 professions. In the last ten years there have been 1,200. 185 apprentices are currently (as of September 1st) doing their training at the magistrate. In this way, the city of Linz also wants to counteract the shortage of skilled workers.

Ten professions to choose from

The magistrate is looking for apprentices in the following professions for the coming year:

  • 1 Archive, Library and Information Assistance
  • 31 office clerks / administrative assistants
  • 1 florist
  • 4 Horticulture
  • 10 garden and green space design landscaping
  • 2 information technology systems engineering
  • 1 cook
  • 2 joinery
  • 2 dental assistants
  • 1 event technology

The city upgrades its training plans with additional offers such as digital skills, new media, special driving licenses and internships abroad. “My aim is for the city of Linz to act as a role model for other companies when it comes to training,” says HR officer Deputy Mayor Tina Blöchl (SP).

Applications are possible until December 11th

The current application period ends on December 11, 2022. The apprenticeship positions are published on www.linz.at, in various print media, at the AMS Upper Austria, at the “Youth and Work” fair and the Linz apprenticeship fair and on social media.
