The boat building company A-Yachts, based in the Palmsdorf district of Attersee, relies on equality to get more women interested in the exciting job of boat building.
Many years of experience with yachts and sailing boats gave rise to the idea of building very special sailing boats. The special feature of the daysailers with Italian design from A-Yachts, which are located in the luxury sector, is also expressed in the company itself: Right from the start, the focus was on equality and the participation of female employees in a strongly male-dominated industry.
With the advisory service “100 percent – Equality pays off” funded by the Federal Ministry of Labor and Economics (BMAW) and the European Social Fund (ESF), the company has been working on additional funding for existing and future female staff. Attractive career opportunities for women in the company were further developed together with consultant Sonja Hauzenberger. Existing working methods were questioned and changes initiated in order to be even more attractive as an employer for both sexes.
